ABOUT
Raithal Retreat situated at 7000ft at the base camp of Dayara Bugyal trek in Northern India, and surrounded by graceful pine forests, rhododendron, oak, and picturesque view of the majestic Himalayan peaks. These cottages are designed to cover the basics and provide comfortable living experience in Garhwal Himalaya. Raithal Retreat offers independent cottages, delicious local meals, camping, and great trekking experience of Gangotri Regions.
Raithal Retreat located 900 meters off the road which can be easily done in less than 20 minutes. The well-marked trail begins from the terrace fields of the village and climbs up to the forest entry point. It is an ideal location to mark the beginning of the trek with unobstructed views of Mt. Srikanth, Mt. Jaonli & Mt. Draupadi ka Danda.

Public Transport from Dehradun– Reach Dehradun before 11 AM. take a shared taxi from Rispana Bridge, Dehradun to Uttarkashi and then taxi from Uttarkashi to Village Raithal. From Raithal, walk for 800 metres to reach Raithal Retreat.
Public Transport from Rishikesh / Haridwar / Dehradun Airport – Reach Rishikesh before 11 AM. take a shared taxi / Bus from Natraj Chock, Rishikesh to Uttarkashi and then taxi from Uttarkashi to Village Raithal. From Raithal, walk for 800 metres to reach Raithal Retreat.

Driving from Dehradun? Look up for the following route:
Dehradun – Mussoorie – Suwakholi – Makhdet – Dharasu Bend – Uttarkashi Gangotri Road – Uttarkashi – Bhatwari – Raithal. Roughly 6-7 hours (180 KMs).
Driving from Haridwar / Rishikesh / Dehradun airport? Look up for the following route:
Haridwar – Rishikesh – Narendra Nagar - Chamba - Chinyalisaur – New Tehri – Uttarkashi – Bhatwari – Raithal. Roughly 6 -7 hours.
Driving from Delhi?Look up for the following route:
Delhi – Muzaffarnagar – Roorkee – Haridwar – Rishikesh – Narendra Nagar - Chamba - New Tehri – Uttarkashi – Bhatwari – Raithal. Roughly 12- 13 hours (448 KMs).
How to reach from Raithal Village to Raithal Retreat?
The 800 meters trek to Raithal Retreat is rated as an easy walk on a cemented and crushed rock trail by most travelers, and can be completed in 20 minutes, depending up on one’s fitness level. However, one would need basic trekking shoes for it.
For the 800 m walk, if you wish to hire a pony for yourself or to carry the luggage, please do let us know in advance. Local pony drivers charge around INR 500 per pony/mule, which could carry 100 Kg of luggage, sufficient enough for 6 people. Having these 'no-road destinations' is one of our commitments to help the local communities earn some easy revenues through us. However, we still advise you to carry light to walk like the Himalayan natives to reach Raithal retreat.
